DRUID

Driving under the Influence of Drugs, Alcohol and Medicines

The Integrated Project DRUID dealt with the scourge of drink-driving and is going to find answers to questions concerning the use of drugs or medicines that affect people’s ability to drive safely. DRUID has brought together the most experienced organisations and researchers throughout Europe. The project, co-ordinated by the Federal Highway Research Institute of Germany (BASt) and with a total budget of about 25 Million Euro, has run over four years. More than 30 institutions and experts from 18 European countries have co-operated to gain new insights to the real degree of impairment caused by psychoactive drugs and their actual impact on road safety during october 2006 and october 2011.
