Using federal transport infrastructure to generate energy
The federal transport infrastructure can make an important contribution to realising the envisaged climate protection goals. On behalf of the Federal Highway Research Institute (BASt), various models for generating renewable energy were therefore developed. In addition to technical aspects, questions regarding the legal classification and the realisation of the business models in question were of particular interest.
This report presents concrete solutions for the increased generation and use of renewable energies along transport infrastructures in the road, rail and waterway sectors. The readiness for interdisciplinary cooperation within the administration across jurisdictional boundaries is of central importance.
