Third BASt Children Traffic Accident Atlas: Regionalised accident data from 2015 to 2019
The number of children who are injured in a serious road accident is decreasing overall. However, there are differences at regional level and depending on the type of road user. The latest Children Traffic Accident Atlas published by the Federal Highway Research Institute (BASt) is based on accident data for the years 2015 to 2019. The analysis of accidents involving children up to 14 years of age, which was even more detailed than in the two previous publications, was broken down to district and municipality level.
The new Children Traffic Accident Atlas provides those responsible in the fields of politics, administration and the police with a comprehensive overview of the development of accident occurrence. The results are to be used to develop and implement effective road safety measures.
