Pedestrian crossings at roundabouts and road sections

Crossing facilities are intended to mitigate potential hazards for pedestrians that may arise when crossing. In practice, there are different arrangements of pedestrian crossings at roundabouts. On behalf of the Federal Highway Research Institute (BASt), the use and road safety of pedestrian crossings and the behaviour of road users at pedestrian crossings were investigated.
