Working at BASt since 2009
Why BASt?
I became aware of BASt when writing my master's thesis. I applied because I found the role of BASt as a research institution on the one hand, and an interface to the operators of the transport infrastructure on the other, particularly interesting.
Tasks and activities with BASt
In the meantime, I work independently on own projects and conceptualize topics and issues, both current and relevant for the future, that find their way into the BASt research program.
The interdisciplinary nature of my work is particularly exciting: On the one hand, it connects to the other departments here at BASt, but also to external experts, for example in the fields of psychology, security research, or the use of alternative energy sources, et cetera. This ensures a great variety, and I do not have the traditional office routine. Here I have also the possibility to consider technical and economic aspects according to my job as an industrial engineer.
Thanks to the possibility of shaping my own work, as well as the largely independent implementation of the projects, I'm learning more every day and I am regularly confronted with new tasks.
Support from BASt
Through seminars, conferences and meetings I can develop professionally; I can choose personal training myself, according to whatever is needed.
Regular professional exchange with the supervisors ensures the balance of interest between BASt and my own ideas about my work.
