University of Turku is a large university with 18,000 students and nearly 3,000 employees. Department of psychology has roughly 70 employees. Traffic research group in department of psychology consists of 6-7 researchers.
Traffic research group has been carrying out several EU-funded projects mainly on driver training field and accident analysis (GADGET, DAN, ANDREA, BASIC, TEST, NOVEV, EACS, PENDANT).
The present task concerns accident analysis, for which research group has a long experience, including practical operation as psychologists in in-depth accident investigation and using case files and data-records.
