The division "Research Management" (Zentralbereich Forschungsmanagement) of the TÜV-Akademie Rheinland (TMS) is specialised in supporting public authorities in the scientific-technical and administrative management of publicly funded projects – in particular in the area of research and development. It advises public authorities with respect to the evaluation and selection of projects to be funded, and offers technical and administrative support in the execution of these projects. At the same time, it is entrusted with the task of facilitating the access of industry and the scientific community to public funding programmes.

The expertise of ZB FM rests on a sound foundation of many years of experience, for example:

  • More than thirty years of co-operation with the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) as a project management organisation responsible for the area of transport research – covering the entire spectrum of ground transportation including the development of new technologies and the optimisation of interfaces with air and water transportation.
  • More than ten years of experience as National Contact Point (NCP) for the transport research programmes of the EU.
  • Management and co-ordination of ERA-NET TRANSPORT (ENT), DG Research since 2003.

With its round 40 employees, ZB FM manages approximately 800 nationally and internationally funded research projects with a total annual volume of Euro 150 million (circa Euro 75 million in funding).
