Development of new methods for determining the residual value in the Pavement Management System
In view of the increasing traffic load, maintaining the quality of federal trunk roads is of great importance. On behalf of the Federal Highway Research Institute (BASt), the Institute for Transport and Infrastructure at Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences therefore investigated how the assessment of the structural substance of the superstructure of traffic surfaces can be optimised.
The results have illustrated the basic procedure for using the RSO asphalt principle at network level. Open problems were identified. The presented procedure for network-wide substance assessment is to be pursued in parallel with other approaches currently under investigation.
