International experienceAutomated motor vehicles lead to a change in communication in road traffic

With an increasing number of automated vehicles, new means of communication are required to assist in the interaction between automated vehicles and non-automated road users. The basic research carried out on behalf of the Federal Highway Research Institute (BASt) provides clues as to which traffic scenarios require new means of communication and which basic requirements these should be subject to.
