Web tool to support accident commissions in the elimination of accident accumulations

New methods to improve road safety will be used more frequently if future users are involved in the implementation. Therefore, on the initiative of the Federal Highway Research Institute (BASt), the online catalogue of measures for the elimination of accident accumulations was presented to several accident commissions. In close cooperation, the pilot applications were evaluated and subsequently revised. Within the framework of the project, all the necessary technical conditions for the use of the catalogue of measures against accident accumulations were implemented. The increased use of this programme should contribute to more efficient work in the field of combating accident accumulations. The optimised web tool presented here provides the accident commissions with a modern tool in the field of road safety work. The foundations for an implementation in the federal states are now in place, so that the web tool can be quickly installed, linked to the federal instance and put into operation after it has been commissioned by the federal states.
